NATURAL WATERING SYSTEM FOR PLANTS

.

Indoor plants in pots tend to dehydrate quickly. To solve this problem, the CitySens Hydrating olla is a simple solution that is buried in the substrate and filled with water. The CitySens olla diffuses water progressively and autonomously for simple and ecological watering of your plants.

The secret of the CitySens olla is its innovative porous material. Many ollas are made of ceramic, a fragile and heavy material that requires a lot of energy to manufacture. Thanks to 3D printing, at CitySens we are able to create a small porous container using a material of organic origin and very little energy for its manufacture.

As ceramic is fragile, it can break if dropped. CitySens ollas are light and resistant. Our solution combines the functionality of a watering olla with a modern and durable design, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

MANUFACTURING WITH 3D PRINTING

.

Each olla is made on demand in our studio in Tarragona (Spain), using 3D printing technology. Each piece is made up of 467 300-micron-high layers of the biopolymer polylactic acid (PLA) mixed with 40% wood.

The use of biopolymer mixed with wood gives this product a porosity suitable for the gradual diffusion of water into the plant substrate. The water contained inside the olla passes through the material slowly, ensuring a continuous supply of water for the plants. If you add CitySens nutrients inside the olla, you will also be feeding the plant.

In addition, the material we use gives the olla an organic texture and a subtle aroma of ground coffee or wet wood. This material is manufactured in Spain with PEFC certified wood.

SELF-WATERING FOR INDOOR PLANTS

.

The CitySens olla is distinguished by its organic shape, color and pleasant wood aroma, offering a discreet aesthetic in harmony with the plants it waters. It integrates perfectly with the size of planters from 15 to 25 cm in diameter, thus optimizing its operation.

Its oval shape favors efficient water irrigation. Its unique design allows for gradual distribution of humidity: the top remains dry while the bottom remains moist. This progressive regulation of water through the layers of materials is also visualized by a colorimetric variation, clearly indicating the humidification of the substrate.

The CitySens olla combines elegance, efficiency and durability thanks to its design and the innovative use of 3D printing technology.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

.

Its round silhouette and lightness make the CitySens olla easy to handle. Its ergonomic design allows for a comfortable and secure grip. The ollas are very easy to use. Here are some tips for using your olla:

1. Install in the ground

Make a small hole in your plant's substrate. Place the olla leaving the top visible. Make sure that the buried part is in good contact with the soil. The roots of your plants will naturally grow towards the olla to absorb the water they need. If you have multiple plants in the same container, try to center the olla to encourage root growth.

2. Fill with water

Fill the olla with water and place the lid on to prevent evaporation. Check the water level regularly and wait for the olla to be completely empty before refilling. Depending on the substrate, the plant and its exposure to light, the frequency of refilling can vary from a few days to a few weeks. For a new or newly transplanted plant, water the substrate directly for the first few days to encourage rooting around the olla.

3. Enjoy!

Over time, the plant will develop its roots around the olla to absorb the necessary water, ensuring vigorous and healthy growth in a simple way. By using the CitySens olla, water usage for irrigation is reduced, avoiding any water stress on your plant.

The CitySens olla is an ideal solution for watering plants on vacation.
